Thanks for stopping by the PRASM blog. Let's get into some color talk! Often times we think of the colors we are going to wear each day in terms of whether or not they make a fashion statement or whether or not
they flatter us physically. This is great, but color serves a very different function that most people are not aware of. Actually this "hidden" function that color serves is the most important in my opinion because it has an impact on our energy and psychological disposition.

What I mean is that all colors have metaphysical properties (beyond what we can see) which affect our mentality whether we are aware of it or not. This is why some colors make us feel extra good and happy, while others might make us feel "so-so." One need only tune into the colors they wear each day to sense the effects that colors have. Sensing the energetic qualities of different colors might not happen overnight, but if you are conscious of the metaphysical qualities that colors you wear each day, you will be able to feel and know what I am referring to.




In this post I would like to highlight a few colors and their psychological properties. Green is a color that promotes peace of the heart and gives us a connection to our fellow man and the natural world around us. This is why we often feel this sense of peace during the spring season, when the trees are blossoming all over again and the grass is returning to a deeper shade of green. It is often recommended that one step out into nature and go for a walk or run when they are upset or downtrodden. This has a lot to do with the color green and the effect it has on our minds and hearts. Green is also the color that promotes growth and abundance. Nature is another indicator of this. We see this growth and abundance in the natural world when the abundance of greenery returns after a long, cold winter.


Yellow says to the mind, "be courageous and shine!" Yellow asks us to put our best foot forward and know that an effort is better than not trying at all. The sun is often associated with the color yellow, and rightfully so. The sun has the same effect on us that the color yellow does. When the sun is shining we often feel more courageous and upbeat. We have an initial spark inside that makes most of us happy. The sun often makes us feel like putting on our best clothes and putting our best self out in the world. Yellow encourages us in this way. So the next time you wear something yellow tune into the feeling of utter joy, courageousness and light-hearted confidence. It can get your day off to a positive start.

White is often associated with new beginnings, rebirth and a clearing of the mind. It promotes starting over from a clean slate and from a place of unfathomable peace. Wear white when you want to renew yourself and feel rejuvenated in your spirit and mind. As your wear it feel in your heart and mind that things are new and much different than they were yesterday. Feel this with your entire being.

Purple is often associated with royalty or nobility in the outer world. In addition, it helps one to connect with the royalty and power that resides within in oneself. Purple promotes the message that within is where true power must start and where the foundation of power must lie. This color is great when one wants to retreat to an inner place of peace and get to know themselves better. It helps with the transference of ones inner qualities and power out into the everyday world.

These are just a few of the ways that color can help us from a psychological position. Whether we consciously acknowledge it or not, color is always affecting us in one way or another. Start researching and tuning into the colors you wear each day and make a note of the influence they begin to have on you over time.

For Men: How to Color Coordinate Your Attire

When dressing ourselves, many of us have asked the question, "what color should I wear with this?" While this might seem slightly confusing at the outset, it really isn't an issue once you learn the basics of color coordination. This week's blog post is all about color coordination, a few dos and donts for color when it comes to fashion.

White
According to Askmen.com white shirts go with everything! When you're not confident on what color looks good with which color just remember: "white shirts goes with everything!" When all else fails choose a white shirt and then top it off with any colored tie, even those with bright and bold colored patterns will work against the classic white shirt. In addition, a white shirt, made to fit your body type will always keep your style fresh and up to date. Keep them on hand!

Gray
Gray is neutral and will complement almost any color, especially those brighter ones. Gray has the power of containing vivid color in a very neat fashion. It does wonders for keeping your attire from a too colorful and "over the top" look. You really can't go wrong with the color gray. It's bound to take your fashion game from "so-so" to smooth, sophisticated and chic!


Matching Color Strengths
Another rule of color coordination for men and a great way to ensure you look your best is to wear colors that are similar in color strength. For instance, pastels with pastels, brights with brights and earth tones with earth tones. If you're going to do more than one color make sure that the one color is not way brighter or bolder than the others (unless there's only two colors and that other color is gray as we talked about before).

Utilizing the Color Wheel
The last tip is to wear colors that compliment each other. Have a look at the color wheel to the right. Colors opposite one another are considered complimentary: yellow and purple, light blue and dark orange, light green and magenta. Reference the color wheel often to help you along the way. The white dot in the middle is nice, illustrating that white goes well with other colors.

A Funky Dose of PRASM Style!

There's something about bold colors that speak to us whether we consciously acknowledge it or not. It's no coincidence that wearing specific colors can often make us feel good, while boosting or restoring our energy and our appetite for life. Many of us probably don't give color much thought beyond trends and fashion.

A Photographic Journey with PRASM!

There are so many wonderful ways that the PRASM brand can fit into your wardrobe! It doesn't matter if your style is casual, abstract, retro, laid back or nonexistent -PRASM is the "go-to" option! It just simply fits and complements!

Featured in this post are a few pictures to illustrate the different ways that our multicolor PRASM belts can add "flavor" to your attire and some color to your life!

Featured to the left is the PRASM canvas, D-ring belt in red! Red is a wonderful way to add some more "urban" to your look! It gives your attire a touch of attitude without overdoing it!

 To the right is the PRASM belt in dark purple. In my opinion, dark purple adds a touch of good mystery to your look! Purple intrigues us!

Our belts do a nice job of complementing a very casual, everyday look such as jeans and a tank!

To the left is the PRASM belt in solid black. Black compliments almost everything! You simply can't go wrong with black. It's perfect for attire that is already abstract on its own!













In the photo to the right, the light brown PRASM belt is featured. It's fastened around a very trendy blazer for a look that goes against the rules. Many might safely wear the PRASM belt tied at the waste and on the inside of the blazer, but with PRASM it is completely safe to use your imagination and rock your belt in your own way!













In the picture to the left is the PRASM belt in bright red! As you can see the model is rocking a hint of bold blue at the top and the red PRASM belt at the waist doesn't clash with it! Instead, the belt compliments the blue and makes the look that much more expressive!

With a white PRASM belt (as featured to the right) it adds a layer of "freshness" to your look! Don't pass up a white belt... it can work!!

Here is the PRASM belt in dark purple again! It is fabulous with a shawl or beautifully detailed scarf around the shoulders! Even with the classy touch of a scarf, the PRASM belt can fit right in!

You simply can't pass up a light blue PRASM belt (to the right)! It's just... FRESH, and is bound to have the same effect on you! It does well with a blue top similar in color, but I can't help but to imagine that this shade would also do well with white tank or a white tee (form fitting or loose)!

As promised, this week’s post will feature my personal list of color symbologies.
